From the direction of Landshut via the B 299 federal road to Vilsbiburg; continue on the B 388 federal road towards Passau; 10 km to Gangkofen, branch off towards Massing.
From the direction of Munich via the B 12 federal road/A 94 motorway junction Mühldorf-Nord; drive on the B 299 federal road to Neumarkt-St. Veit; continue on the St 2086 state road to Massing (9 km)..By public transport:
Massing is the Rott Valley Railway (Südostbayernbahn)station between Passau and Mühldorf am Inn; the train runs every hour between 9 am and 8 pm (tariff zone of the Südostbayern [Southeast Bavaria] Ticket): from the direction of Landshut, there is a connection via Neumarkt-St. Veit. From the Massing railway station it is 8 minutes on the footpath to the open-air museum. -
By bicycle:
Massing is located directly along the Rott Valley Bicycle Route from Neumarkt-St. Veit to Neuhaus am Inn; there are opportunities to board the Rott Valley Railway. An e-bike charging station is located at the museum parking area!.
